Ilenka Jelowicki

Ilenka moved to England from Canada at the age of 22, having graduated with a masters in Theater from the University of Kings College. Treading the fringe boards she supported herself by working as an extra in feature films. After her legs got featured in the remake of The Saint, Ilenka decided that maybe casting might be her calling. She began working at a very busy casting agency, and one of her first major projects was casting the 650 people used as extras in the hugely successful Shakespeare in Love. After two years though her entrepreneurial side was calling out to her and she set up Mad Dog Casting. Ilenka co-ran and owned Mad Dog for ten successful years working on over 100 productions such as The Da Vinci Code, various Bond films, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. During this time Ilenka also began working as a casting director casting the featured artists for commercials and short films. Ilenka sold Mad Dog in 2009 and now works as a freelance casting director.
